Some DOTS on the commute. A silly clean 420 SEL and a legal R34 GTR.
also went for a ride with some ppl. Have a euro bike from each country that makes them more or less.

The newer wheels are highly controversial for the classic Benz fans...
I actually dig them— believing that the timelessly clean design of a W126 still works superbly with modern wheels. OTOH I know diehard Benz guys who will always prefer the period-correct body-color-paint caps on 14s and 15s. To each their own.

This old Merc fan is for sure against it!

Ha. I put a set of modern Lorinsers on my W126... so I’m a heretic?

Well if I’m picturing that right I would say they don’t look bad, I like the older cars anyway, I have a W123 and I for sure don’t like modern wheels on them.

That R34 is legal somehow? It seems more legit than the GTR I posted about today. There are more of them around than you might expect apparently.

Oh, that would explain it. I was pretty surprised that two could be seen and posted about the same day.

Those are fine, could be stock even.

I’m not sure they’re period correct, especially as I had to use spacers on the W126 fronts . I also have a set of th0 se on my C107 but I think they came off a later S-class originally.
OTOH, I “think” the Bundts we re offered on the R107 and W126... and were period-correct
And, of course, my W123 still has these steelies with the body color cap...
but in calf poop brown. That car needs an engine. Wish I could find a good turbo-5 for it.

I need to refinish my Bundts now that you show me those shiny ones! The wheels don’t look out of place on it in any case, I like them. This is mine next to my Z:
Those are Australian or NZ plates right? Seems like it says VIC, for victoria? I saw a pickup size truck on a show that looked pretty new and the steering wheel had an A shaped emblem made out of diamond shaped elements, that’s about all I can say to describe it. I looked up trucks for sale down under and I didn’t see a brand like that.

Australia, I think.
I still need to fill out the stable with a 560SEC. Then, I’m done. And, no, I’m not sure about those wheels on it...
